Report Child-Focused Public Expenditure Review in Armenia Debated

On October 4, in the RA NA Standing Committee on Healthcare and Social Affairs the debate of the report of the Child-Focused Public Expenditure Review in Armenia prepared by the United Nations Children’s Fund /UNICEF/ was held.

The presented results are based on the review of the data of the state and community expenditures for 2012-2015. The main goal is to support the RA Government to assess the general size and structure of the child-focused budgetary allocations, as well as the gaps and obstacles of the existing policy, boost the transparency and accountability of the public expenditures on the child’s rights.

The representatives of the UNICEF Argentina Office and the Government of Argentina with the Armenian parliamentarians talked about the child-focused expenditures being considered prior in the sphere of public policy. The guests shared with the experience in the sphere. In terms of expenditure accessibility for the beneficiaries the provision of the budgetary transparency.

The Committee Chair touched upon the process of turning into the program budgetary system in Armenia, noting that it would provide progressive development. According to Hakob Hakobyan, the biggest contribution for the future of any state are the expenditures for the children.
