On February 19, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self- Government, Agriculture and Environment Varazdat Karapetyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia Sergey Kopirkin.
The interlocutors discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation in the sphere of agriculture, especially the possibilities of realization of the Armenian agricultural products in the Russian market.
The creation of the new formats of cooperation as a result of strengthening the relations between the two countries’ businessmen was highlighted, which would give an opportunity to make more visible the state support in the sphere of agriculture. It would be an additional impetus in specifying the markets in the Russian Federation.
The possibilities of cooperation between the local self-government and territorial administration were also discussed.
At the meeting an agreement was reached to organize meetings of the businessmen during the visit of the Governor of Karelia to Armenia for signing contracts and establishment of closer trade relations in the future.
The sides also touched upon the development of the relations between the parliamentary committees of Armenia and Russia and the exchange of experience.
