On April 15, the deputies of the RA NA My Step Faction Mikayel Zolyan and Hripsime Grigoryan met with the students of the Department of Political Science of Copenhagen University.
The member of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Mikayel Zolyan presented the situation created in Armenia after the shift of power, touched upon the issues on the challenges of democracy development, the involvement of the civil society in the process of reforms, the anti-corruption strategy and the RA-EU cooperation.
The Representative of the International Debate Student Association at Copenhagen University Celine Emma La Cour has noted that the goal of the visit is to get acquainted with the reforms going on in our country and get answers to the questions on political some agenda priorities. According to her, Armenia with its passed path is a rather interesting theme for those studying the political science.
The students also visited Artsakh Republic. With regards to Karabakh conflict problem the deputy of My Step Faction Hripsime Grigoryan noted that the final solution of the issue should be acceptable for the peoples of Artsakh, Armenia and Azerbaijan. According to her, the communication between the sides should be continued not only at the level of political elites, but also of public wide layers, for which the online platforms could be an effective tool.
At the students’ request the MPs also referred to the relations of Armenia with the EU, Russia and the neighbouring states.
The parliamentarians answered to the questions regarding the freedom of mass media, the role of the opposition, the protection of human rights and the legislative works.
