On April 23, the Chair of the RA NA State and Legal Affairs, the Head of the NA Armenia-France Friendship Group Vladimir Vardanyan met with the delegation of the Chamber of Advocacy of Paris led by the Vice President of the Chamber Basile Ader. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia Jonathan Lacôte attended the meeting.

The delegation takes part in the Conference titled: 200 Years of Criminal Protection: Revolution, Legal State, Public Freedoms.

Basile Ader presented the activity of the Chamber of Advocacy of Paris, underlining the relations established with the RA Chamber of Advocates. He has noted that every year specialists of the sphere from Armenia leave for France to get training. Noting that the parliament is reserved the responsibility of building legal state, and the guest has opined that the rule of law is the motivation force for providing economic flight. In this context he emphasized the ensuring of the advocates’ independence and security guarantees.

According to Vladimir Vardanyan, the French democratic values are considered to be a component of our identity and education and the traditions of the French constitutional developments are in the basis of the RA Constitution. In his turn the Committee Chair highlighted the legal stability and security, the impartiality and efficiency of the judicial power in the economy development and involvement of the investments. In this respect he stressed the establishment of the Institute of Advocacy and talked about the development phases of that sphere in our country. Vladimir Vardanyan touched upon the problems of the judicial power and advocacy.

The sides emphasized the steps aimed at the corruption risk reduction in the judicial system and in this regard talked about ensuring the judges’ social guarantees. Vladimir Vardanyan has informed that the fight against corruption is one of the agenda items, and the legislator envisages working out legal regulations on the anti-corruption body and undertaking mechanisms that the judicial system will deprive from manifestation of corruption.
