On May 15, the Head of the Sub-Committee including the spheres of television, radio, press and information of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport Vahagn Tevosyan and the Chair of the NGO IFCA: Independent Filmmakers’ Community of Armenia Satik Stepanyan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

The organization, where members of different companies being involved with film production, has activities for about two years, is engaged with the problems of the sphere, also with the implementation of different programmes for gifted young people’sadvancement.

By Vahagn Tevosyan’s assessment, in recent years the development of film production in Armenia, conditioned by different circumstances limps, and the signing of the Memorandum and formation of such platform can have a beneficial impact on the sphere. He has underlined that the Committee is open and ready for the discussion of various problems in the sphere.

Speaking about the goals of the Memorandum, Satik Stepanyan has opined that the cooperation with the Parliamentary Committee can promote the solution of the problems existing in the sphere and the formation of the healthy atmosphere.

During the meeting the participants touched upon the RA draft law on Cinema being under elaboration, and in relation to that, as Satik Stapenyan has informed, now European specialists carry out consultation.
