On June 4, the Speaker of the RA National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan being in Warsaw to take part in the 4th Summit of Parliament Speakers of Central and Eastern Europe met with the Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland Marek Kuchciński. The Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Ruben Rubinyan and the RA Ambassador to Poland Samvel Mkrtchyan also attended the meeting.
The Speaker of the National Assembly congratulated his colleague for the results recorded by his party in the European elections, as well as wished him success during parliamentary elections to be held in October.
Ararat Mirzoyan highlighted the deepening of bilateral relations with Poland based on the friendship coming from the centuries between the two peoples, mutual trust, as well as the common values.
“Poland is considered one of the important partners of Armenia in Europe since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Poland,” the Speaker of the National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan said.
The Head of the legislative body has opined that the cooperation in the parliamentary format is of essential importance in enriching the agenda of the Armenian-Polish inter-state cooperation and deepening the existing friendly ties. In this context Ararat Mirzoyan also highlighted the activity of the functioning Friendship Groups and Committees on Foreign Relations in the two parliaments. The Speaker of the National Assembly evaluated the cooperation of the parliamentary delegations within the frameworks of the international structures, as well as the balanced position over the issues of vital importance for the two countries.
Ararat Mirzoyan presented to his colleague the Head of Armenia-Poland Parliamentary Friendship Group in the National Assembly of the 7th convocation, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Ruben Rubinyan.
Greatly highlighting the joint sittings of the Committees on Foreign Relations of the parliaments of Armenia and Poland, the President of the National Assembly expressed hope that it would serve as a functioning format and give an opportunity to establish sincere atmosphere for exchange of thoughts, discussion and implementation of joint programmes.
In his turn the Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland Marek Kuchciński congratulated Ararat Mirzoyan on the occasion of the elections of the National Assembly and being elected in the office of the NA President.
“We observe with warm feeling the process of passing into democratization through velvet revolution in Armenia,” Marshal Kuchciński stressed.
Touching upon the parliamentary cooperation Marek Kuchciński has presented the Head of the Friendship Group with Armenia Tadeusz Woźniak and has noted that the Group does serious work for the development of the relations.
The Marshal highly assessed the role of the Armenian community in the life of Poland.
In response Ararat Mirzoyan thanked his colleague for the special positive attitude shown by the authorities towards the Armenian community and adopted policy.
The Head of the parliament has expressed his gratitude to the parliament of Poland for the ratifying the RA-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, noting that the full implementation of the document is one of the agenda priorities of Armenia.
At the end of the meeting the sides expressed readiness for continuous, more active cooperation and implementation of newest programmes.
