Human Rights Defender Presents Programmes and Possible Expenditures for 2020

On July 15, the NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs moderated by Naira Zohrabyan convened a working sitting.

The Committee Chair Naira Zohrabyan has informed that according to the RA Prime Minister’s decision on Beginning the RA Budgetary Process for 2020 to begin the RA budgetary process for 2020 it is proposed to implement in the head committees debates of budgetary programmes included in the preliminary version of the RA draft law on the RA State Budget for 2020.

Touching upon the main directions of the coming works, the Human Rights Defender (HRD) Arman Tatoyan noted that during the last two years the institutional involvement of the Human Rights Defender had considerably increased in the legal system of the country.

The deputies were interested in the issues on the activity of the marz sub-units of the HRD Office, the statistics of the violence cases towards women, the protection of the RA citizens’ rights, etc. Arman Tatoyan has noted that it is designed to create a Division of Women’s Rights in the HRD Staff. He informed that to change the stereotypes existing in the sphere an awareness programme in consonance with the RA legislation would be carried out.
