On September 2, the RA NA Deputy Speaker Vahe Enfiajyan met with the students with excellent marks, the representatives of the NGOs and the concerned persons interested in the problems of the sphere to discuss the legislative initiative on Amending the RA Law on Education.

The Deputy Speaker of the Parliament congratulated the guests on Independence Day of Artsakh Republic and Knowledge Day.

Vahe Enfiajyan has informed that he put into circulation a legislative initiative, which proposes to make the scholarship of the students with higher marks 20.000 drams instead of 5000 drams, and the students with excellent marks 30.000 drams instead of 6000 drams.

The RA NA Deputy Speaker has noted that since 1999 until now the abovementioned provision of the law has not undergone changes, and the 5.000-dram scholarship has been comparative with the minimum salary of those years.

According to the Vice President, the international experience has also been studied in the phase of the draft law elaboration.

According to Vahe Enfiajyan, in case of being the legislative draft law approved it will enter into force on 1 September 2020.

The RA NA Deputy Speaker also answered to the students’ questions and listened to their recommendations.
