On September 5, the members of the RA NA Standing Committee on Health Care and Social Affairs met with the representatives of the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the European Union (EU).

The members of the RA NA Standing Committee on European Integration Gayane Abrahamyan and Sona Ghazaryan took part in the meeting.

Welcoming the guests in the parliament, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Health Care and Social Affairs Narek Zeynalyan has noted that he highly assesses the mission implemented by the ILO and the EU representatives in the Republic of Armenia. He has stated that they emphasize similar meeting-debates in the Committee, especially on the theme of working relations and the workers’ protection of rights.

During the meeting the sides considered important the activity of certain inspection body of the work it was noted that the draft law was put into circulation recently, by which that the body would be created and it would have an oversight function.

The Committee members have stated that with their every day regime they touch upon the gaps of the Labor Code and try to rectify them highlighting the workers’ rights and awareness.

The ILO and the EU representatives expressed readiness to organize joint working discussions, courses on the improvement of the RA Labor Code and the rise of the workers’ legal consciousness.
