On October 8, at the extraordinary sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs moderated by Naira Zohrabyan the item of the nomination and election of the Member of the Council on Women's Issues in the RA by the Committee was debated.

According to the NA deputy Maria Karapetyan, in the Council on Women's Issues four deputies National Assembly will present the position, and three representatives out of them from the factions, and one from the NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs.

Maria Karapetyan nominated the candidacy of the member of My Step Faction Taguhi Ghazaryan as a representative of the Committee in the Council, who was unanimously elected.

Maria Karapetyan has informed that a group of MPs have made statements, where the manifestations of persecution, terrorism, threat and encroachment, the provocation and encouragement of hatred and animosity towards the civil society and their representatives, the media and the journalists, the representatives of the judicial power, law defenders, other individuals and groups is condemned.

It has been noted that the announcement is open for the other MPs to join.
