Issues on Development of Armenian-Iranian Friendly Relations Discussed

On November 6, the Head of the RA NA Armenia-Iran Friendship Group Varazdat Karapetyan and the Group member Tatevik Hayrapetyan met with the delegation led by the Deputy Chairman of the Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Jamali Nobandegani.

Welcoming the guests, Varazdat Karapetyan talked about the necessity of the activation of the Armenian-Iranian friendly relations. He noted that Iran could observe Armenia and the Armenian people as the best ally and irrespective of religious affiliation, the one spreading peace in the world. “Our two countries work and fight for stable peace, and this is the historical mission of our peoples to show to the world that in this region we can live as brothers,” Varazdat Karapetyan said.

The Head of the Friendship Group has noted that Armenia highly assesses the balanced position of Iran in the issue of Karabakh conflict.

Mohammad Javad Jamali Nobandegani has expressed conviction that such meetings promote the deepening of inter-parliamentary relations and the development of cooperation in a number of spheres. The parliamentarians agreed to make more frequent the meetings especially at the level of Parliamentary Groups, as well as to revise an agenda of development of bilateral relations.

The interlocutors discussed a number of issues of bilateral interest.
