On November 29, on the initiative of the RA NA Standing Committee on Financial Credit and Budgetary Affairs parliamentary hearings were held on the theme Credit Policy in Armenia, where the representatives from the RA Central Bank, Financial System Mediator Office, the NGOs of the sphere and the Unions of Banks took part.
The Committee Chair Mane Tandilyan highlighted the theme the Credit Policy and Financial Literacy, noting that while discussing the problems concerning the credits we often relate to the problems of awareness and literacy. According to her, we should use the platform under debate in the mentioned format for voicing the existing problems, finding the reasons and propose joint solutions.
The Head of the RA Central Bank (CB) Center for Consumer Rights Protection and Financial Armenuhi Mkrtchyan has emphasized the theme under debate and has noted that it is always under the attention of the Central Bank.
During the hearings other representatives of the Central Bank, the NA deputies Sergey Bagrtyan and Artur Grigoryan, the Chair of the Credit Organizations' Union and other participants delivered speeches.
The limit of the credit interest rates being applied in the banks and credit organizations in Armenia, as well as the expediency of controlling it has been one of the key items of the hearings.
The participants emphasized the necessity of regularly touching upon the abovementioned problems.
