On February 5, the regular sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs moderated by Babken Tunyan was held, during which the debates of the draft laws on a number of laws.

The Committee gave negative conclusion to the draft law on Making Amendment and Addendum to the RA Tax Code authored by the RA NA Bright Armenia Faction.

The bill on Making Amendments and Addenda to the law on Precious Stones authored by the RA NA Prosperous Armenia Faction was debated. The key speaker NA deputy Mikayel Melkumyan and the RA Deputy Minister of Economy Avag Avanesyan presented the bill.

The bill received the negative conclusion of the Committee.

The Committee endorsed the bill on Amending the Land Tax authored by the RA NA deputies Argishti Mekhakyan and Gevorg Papoyan.

The bill on Ratifying the Agreement on Air Communications between the RA Government and the House of Hashim Government of Jordan was also endorsed.

The package of laws on Making Addenda and Amendments to the RA Law on Trade and Services authored by the RA NA deputy Alen Simonyan was debated.

The RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Sub-structures Vache Terteryan has opined that the sale and the import of the fir-trees.was banned.

According to Babken Tunyan, the ban of the import will damage those being engaged with business.

The voting of the item was postponed for additional working.

The legislative package on Tobacco Production Types and Reduction of the Damage being Caused to Health in Consequence of Their Substitutes’ Use and Their Prevention was debated in the second reading and was endorsed.

According to the RA Deputy Minister of Health Lena Nanushyan, recommendations in written form have not been presented by the MPs, the oral recommendations have been formulated by the Government, as a result of which the package of bills has been revised and re-edited.
