On June 1, the RA NA President Ararat Mirzoyan met with the President of the National Assembly of Artsakh Republic Artur Tovmasyan.
Welcoming the AR NA newly elected President, Ararat Mirzoyan expressed conviction that Artur Tovmasyan’s activities would be more effective already in the new status, and in that aspect the work of the parliaments of the two Armenian republics would greatly win.
The President of the National Assembly of Artsakh has underlined that both in the law-making field and on the platform of political discussions the two states have established traditions, which are necessary to enrich. In this context, he touched upon the importance of the works of the Inter-Parliamentary Committee on Cooperation and the partnership of the Standing Committees.
The AR NA President has noted that through the national elections in Artsakh a revolution has taken place in the parliament, assuring that the newly elected National Assembly is concerned about making more effective the cooperation with the legislative body of Armenia.
“Artsakh will be secure, if we have stable Armenia and powerful Diaspora,” Artur Tovmasyan documented. To his conviction, if we have the support of all Armenians in three agenda items: Artsakh problem, recognition of the Armenian Genocide and security, then certainly, we will register success.
In his turn Ararat Mirzoyan highly assessed the current level of the inter-parliamentary cooperation and expressed consent that all the problems could be solved and should be overcome with joint efforts. “Armenia and Artsakh are parts of the same Motherland, and we should go forward with united agenda,” the RA NA President affirmed.
The parties referred to the problem of the further upgrading of the AR NA Staff skills, underlined the establishment of the close contacts at the level of the Chiefs of Staffs of the two parliaments and the importance of the exchange of experience between the parliaments of the Staffs.
