On July 8, the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security moderated by Andranik Kocharyan convened an extraordinary sitting.

The draft law on Making Addendum to the RA Law on Military Service and Serviceman’s Status authored by the deputy of the RA NA My Step Faction Sofia Hovsepyan was debated in the first reading.

The MP has informed that at present 12 members of the families of the deceased servicemen (parents, widow, sister, brother) study in all state higher educational institutions and, according to a new provision, they can study at the expense of the RA state budget means.

The Government presented its observations on the draft law, which were accepted by the author.

The Committee members welcomed the initiative and called them on to vote for it.

The initiative was endorsed.
