On July 15, the extraordinary sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security moderated by Andranik Kocharyan was held.

The MPs paid tribute in one-minute silence to the memory of the servicemen, who were deceased during the defense of some part of Tavush region of Armenia’s state border.

The Committee Chair has informed that relatively calmness is maintained in the the northeastern of the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border zone.

Afterwards the package of draft laws on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Law on Military Industrial Complex and on Making Addenda and Amendments to the RA Law on Defense was debated in the second reading.

The RA Deputy Minister of Hi-Tech Industry Gor Melikyan has noted that amendments under proposal are of technical character and conditioned by the structural changes of the Government.

The Deputy Minister also informed that after passing it in the first reading recommendations were not presented.

In his co-report the RA NA deputy Tigran Karapetyan urged his colleagues to vote for the legislative package.

The Committee endorsed the package of draft laws.
