RA NA Speaker Artur Baghdasaryan’s issued a congratulatory message on the occasion of the Independence of Armenia, reading as follows:
Dear compatriots,
I warmly congratulate you on Armenia’s Independence Day.
There are dozens of holidays in calendars of all countries around the world, but there is one that is the most important. Such is the holiday of Armenia’s Independence Day that reaffirms Armenia’s right to freedom and independence.
The 14 years of independence proved difficult for us: our whole nation passed the tests of war and peace and proved the world and ourselves that we deserve our independence and can leave a day by day developing state to our heirs.
Today, the Republic of Armenia is at a new stage of development: we are getting prepared for the amendments of the Basic Law of our country, the adoption of which will become a guarantee for our future development on its road to constructing a country abiding by the principles of democracy and the rule of law. Of course, we still face numerous unsolved problems, social and economic difficulties, which we should overcome joining our efforts to reach our vision of a prosperous, competitive state in the region. The draft laws passing through the National Assembly seek to achieve the fulfillment of that goal.
Dear compatriots, once more presenting my congratulations on the 14th anniversary of Armenia’s Independence I wish you peace, happiness and productive work to the prosperity of our Homeland.
