Burden on Courts to Be Facilitated

On February 2, the RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs moderated by Vladimir Vardanyan debated in the first reading the draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the Constitutional Law the RA Judicial Code and the enclosed presented package of the draft laws.


The RA Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan has presented that by proposing amendments it is expected to ensure the efficiency of the case examination related to the pre-judicial criminal procedure and corruption crimes.


The executive body proposes to increase the number of the judges: the number of the judges in the court of general jurisdiction of the first instance will increase by 17, and at least 8 out of them in Yerevan.


Rustam Badasyan touched upon the issues of the increase of the judges' number, the checking of the pretender judges' qualification, the working experience and facilitation of holding competitions.


The deputy Suren Grigoryan proposed to endorse the draft law, informing that the package was also discussed with the colleagues of the Super Judicial Council.


The revised draft law was endorsed.
