On September 22, Haik Kotanian, Chief of NA staff hosted Alexander Lotorev, Chief of RF State Duma.

Greeting his colleague’s visit to Armenia, Mr. Kotanian underlined the importance of cooperation of the parliamentary staffs. Chief of NA staff expressed conviction that the good tradition of cooperation will be continued, and friendly relations of two countries will be strengthened. During the last three years the parliamentary employees’ visits to State Duma have been useful, said Mr. Kotanian, adding, that the trained employees returned to work with new charges and new qualification. In response Mr. Lotorev said that the state servicemen from the legislative body of Armenia differ from the ones of the other countries. They differ from the desire of learning as much as possible and with their activeness. The representative of the State Duma, in his turn, also considered necessary to spread inter-state, inter-parliamentary dialogues on the staffs. He expressed readiness to create favorable conditions for the exchange of experience and visit to State Duma.

During the meeting the chiefs of parliamentary staffs of two countries touched upon the structures managed by them and their functions. The problems of the employees’ training and financing also were discussed.

The Chief of RF State Duma also met with Eduard Khojayan, Head of External Relations Department and Artak Hovhannisyan, Head of Protocol Department. The work of the establishment and strengthening of external relations was presented to the guest. Special attention was paid to the works of CIS division, in particular, cooperation with the legislative body of the Russian Federation.
