United Social Service to Function from April
1 / 38

At February 3 extraordinary sitting of the RA National Assembly the amendments being proposed to the RA laws on Social Assistance, on State Administration System Bodies and on State Pensions were debated.

The RA Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs initiated structural changes, as a result of which a new structure – United Social Service is designed to create. It will be created on the basis of the social assistance of the medical-social examination of the ministry, employment state offices and social assistance agencies of regional subordination and social assistance divisions of community subordination.

The MPs have proposed to invest a social assistance service, and the Minister has noted that the work has already been in process in that direction.

Before turning to the package the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Mesrop Arakelyan has informed that there is no social and humanitarian problem in post-war Artsakh, all the Artsakh people, who have permanent residential places, have returned to Artsakh. The gas and electricity supply, is completely, as well as the communication is also almost restored.

As Mesrop Arakelyan has informed, the RA and AR governments jointly carry out the programmes, which to certain extent facilitate the citizens' concerns.

The member of the RA NA Bright Armenia Faction Taron Simonyan has been interested why three months after the war no house has been built in Artsakh, when Azerbaijan is building an international airport in Fizuli, has built roads in Talish, will build a road to Shushi, etc.

Minister Arakelyan has noted with pain that the deputy compares the programmes being made in Artsakh with the ones being implemented in Azerbaijan. “Until now Azerbaijan could not have electricity in Shushi, meanwhile Artsakh is completely provided with 24-hour electricity, though during the war all the substructures have been bombed.” Arakelyan has also said that today 1000 houses are under construction for permanent residence at the first phase.
