On March 17, the regular sitting of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs moderated by Vladimir Vardanyan was held.

The legislative initiative on Making Addendum to the Constitutional Law the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly authored by the NA independent deputy Sergey Bagratyan was debated in the first reading. The author proposed to give an opportunity to the Investigative Committee to express distrust to the member of the Government, who will not attend the Investigative Committee with lame excuse.

In the Committee Chair’s opinion, the presented bill does not completely solve the problem.

The RA Deputy Minister Vahe Danielyan noted that the NA all factions should be represented in the Investigative Committees, thus the Faction if necessary, can address with questions in written form without proposal of the Investigative Committee to the members of the Government, taking part in the discussion of the items concerning the authority of the Investigative Committee.

As a result of voting, the legislative initiative was not endorsed.
