On March 22, the Head of the RA NA Armenia-Slovakia Friendship Group, the deputy of My Step Faction Hamazasp Danielyan met with the Chargé d' Affairs of the Slovak Republic to the Republic of Armenia Miroslav Hacek.
Thanking for the reception, the Ambassador has noted that Slovakia supports the democracy of Armenia and is ready to contribute to ongoing reforms in Armenia.
Hamazasp Danielyan highlighted the opening of the Slovak Embassy in Armenia in the development of bilateral relations.
The Head of the Friendship Group expressed his gratitude for the balanced position of Slovakia on the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict. In this context, he emphasized the resolution adopted by the Slovak Parliament during the war, which included all 3 principles of the conflict settlement. He also thanked the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Slovak National Council in connection with the initiative and adoption of the resolution related to Nagorno Karabakh on March 17, 2021 and he was hopeful that the resolution will be adopted by the Slovak Parliament in the near future. Danielyan has stressed the importance of the resolution, because it underlines such items as the immediate release of all prisoners of war and other forcibly kept persons, the condemnation of the military involvement of the third countries during the conflict, the implementation of the decision process on future legal status of Nagorno Karabakh, under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs and other important provisions.
The MP also attached importance to the cooperation with Slovakia in the framework of the RA-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement.
The parties referred to the snap parliamentary elections scheduled in Armenia on June 20, 2021. Hamazasp Danielyan highlighted the amendments to the Electoral Code.
