At March 24 sitting, the parliament in the first reading debated the draft law on Amending the law on the Advertisement authored by the Government.

According to the RA Deputy Minister of Finance Armen Hayrapetyan, it is proposed to apply certain time limit towards the lottery advertisements implemented through the news websites instead of the 20% volume restriction of the website, designing that the advertisements can be implemented during the period from 22:00 until 7:00.

The control will be implemented by the State Revenue Committee through monitoring.

The bill was endorsed in the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport.

According to Babken Tunyan, the volume of bets has increased in Armenia in one and a half years. The most effective way to prevent it is to regulate with restrictions. He underlined that the advertisement restriction is inevitable and very necessary.
