On October 3 Mher Shahgeldyan, Chairman of NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs received Georgy Vanyan, Chairman of “Caucasus Center of Peace-Making Initiatives” NGO, Mamuka Kuparadze, Director of “RE” studio, Seymour Novruzoghlu, reporter of “Azerbaijan Today” daily, writer, publicist, who are in Armenia within the framework of “South Caucasus Integration-Alternative Start” program.

Presenting the goals of the program, the guests noted that their goal is to activate the contacts through NGOs, individuals in the regional countries, have dialogues on the current problems, promote the settlement of the regional conflicts also through peoples’ diplomacy. Within the framework of the program in 10 marzes of Armenia conferences, seminars, meetings, “Armenia-Georgia-Azerbaijan together” young painters’ exhibition were organized. “Karabakh” Georgian-Abkhazian film and “Armenia” film were shot, which in future will also be screened in Azerbaijan. In the shootings of “Armenia” film and Azeri reporter also participated. In November a jazz festival will be held in Yerevan, where musicians of Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Karabakh, Abkhazia, Ossetia will participate. Mr. Shageldyan welcomed the implementation of the program, reserving an important role in the settlement of conflicts to NGOs, peoples’ diplomacy. In this context the importance of the parliamentary diplomacy was also highlighted.
