At April 9 sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment , the deputy Narek Grigoryan raised a question on limited quantities of industrial fishing for whitefish (sig).
According to the RA Deputy Minister of Environment Tigran Simonyan, there is a problem of bio resource preservation. The maximum quantity of industrial fishing has been 250 tons which has been equally divided between the fishermen who had submitted a bid.
“There was a time when an unregulated number of crayfish was taken out and that kind did not exist for a long time. We should not allow it again in case of whitefish. This is our aim to maximally restrict the volumes of industrial fishing,” the Deputy Minister said.
