At April 28 sitting, the RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs debated the amendment and addenda being designed in the law on Automobile Transport and in the enclosed package, which initiated the Government.

According to the RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Armen Simonyan, it is proposed to establish the drivers’ daily and weekly rest and work periods. It is designed also to apply the digital tachograph system in the transport means implementing passenger and cargo transportation There will be exception, in that case the digital tachograph system will not be applied.

It has also been noted that by the road map of applying the RA-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement it is designed to harmonize the legislation regulating the transport sphere with the requirements of the EU legislation. The RA legislation will be complied with the requirements of the Agreement on the Work of the Vehicle Means Staff Implementing International Automobile Road Transportation.

As a result of discussion, the package of the draft laws was endorsed.
