Parliament Debates in Second Reading Initiative on Granting Pardon Towards Persons Avoiding Military Service

At May 5 sitting, the RA Deputy Minister of Justice Armen Hovhannisyan presented for debate in the second reading the legislative initiative on Granting Pardon the Persons, Who Evaded Compulsory Military or Alternative Service, Regular Conscription, Training Camp or Mobilization Conscription authored by the Government. He voiced the about the amendments made from the first to the second reading. The draft law regulates the relations regarding the granting pardon to the male citizens who are 27-year-old privates and 35-year-old reserve officers who avoided compulsory military or alternative service the persons who are suspected, accused or convicted of committing a crime pursuant to not only Article 327.1, but also 3 of the RA Criminal Code.

The NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security endorsed the item under debate
