At May 7 sitting, the package of draft laws designing Amendments and Addendum to the Law on Local Government in the City of Yerevan and other enclosed ones authored by the Government was debated in the first reading.
According to the key rapporteur, the RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Vache Terteryan, it is proposed to increase the number of the deputy mayors in Yerevan, making four to five. It is envisaged to remove the discretionary position of the Chief Architect from the regulations of the law.
After the adoption of the initiative, the responsibility of being engaged in Chief Architect’s functions will be reserved to the new Deputy Mayor.
The Committee member Sergey Movsisyan presented the endorsement of the Standing (Head) Committee on Territorial Administration, Local-Self Government, Agriculture and Environment. He called on the MPs to vote for the initiative.
