On May 22-23, the RA NA Standing Committees on Health Care and Social Affairs and on State and Legal Affairs organized a working discussion in the framework of the UN Development Programme – Modern Parliament for a Modern Armenia.

The representatives of the RA Ministries of Labor and Social Affairs, of Justice, the RA Prosecutor General’s Office, the RA Special Investigation Service, the RA Investigative Committee, the RA Supreme Judicial Council took part in the meeting.

The draft laws on Making Amendment and Addendum to the Constitutional Law – the RA Judicial Code and Amending the RA Law on Ensuring the Activities, Services and Social Guarantees of Officials have been debated, the aim of which is the solution of the problems existing in the judges’ retirement social security system. On May 4, the draft laws were adopted in the first reading, after that a number of proposals were received regarding the bills.

In-depth and the general debate gave an opportunity to accordingly revise the draft laws, taking into account the proposals of all concerned bodies.
