On May 25, a group of pupils and teachers from Chambarak community of Gegharkunik marz were the guests of the National Assembly in the framework of the NA Open Lesson programme.

The NA deputies of My Step Faction Hayk Sargsyan and Koryun Mkrtchyan met and talked with them.

Hayk Sargsyan introduced the structure and the activities of the legislative body to the students.

The schoolchildren were interested in the procedure for becoming a deputy and the ways for solving the problems of their community. In this context, the MP has informed that it is envisaged to carry out some programmes in the community.

As a response to the children’s questions, Koryun Mkrtchyan said that in future they could work in the National Assembly not only as deputies, but also, they could be in the staff of the parliament as specialists or as accredited journalists, who covers a parliamentary happening.

On the same day, the schoolchildren from Fioletovo community of Lori marz were in the parliament. The NA deputy of My Step Faction Aleksey Sandikov met with them.

He has clarified for the guests how you can have NA deputy mandate, participate in lawmaking and promote to the development of the country being a representative of a national minority. He noted the number of the deputies representing national minorities and the procedure of electing them.

The MP of Russian origin urged the children to learn the Armenian language equal to the Russian language too, taking into consideration their nationality and citizenship.

The guests were in the NA library and the museum.
