Members of NA My Step Faction Refer to Border Situation
1 / 4

During the parliamentary briefings held on May 31, the media representatives inquired from the members of the NA My Step Faction about the steps envisaged by our country in the period following the application to the CSTO.

As Hayk Konjoryan said, both the Acting Prime Minister and the parliamentary majority have said that we use all possible means to regulate the emerged problems. The CSTO has its own structures and terms. “We want everything to happen quickly, however it does not put us in a situation that we stop taking some actions. In parallel to that, the proposal of the RA Acting Prime Minister to withdraw the troops from both sides was made. When there will be a reaction from the other side after that the processes will go according to their proper way,” Konjoryan said.

According to Sisak Gabirelyan, the process is not mechanical. A proposal was made to the international community and also to the RF (Russian Federation). “Three countries are involved in the Minsk Group and all three has been ready. In our opinion, Azerbaijan has already to decide. Our position is clear: the process shall be started when the Azerbaijani troops leave the borders of Armenia. Yes, there should be delimitation and demarcation, but it cannot happen as long as the Azerbaijani armed subunits are in the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia,” Gabrielyan underlined.

Lilit Makunts has added that at first, we must understand whether it is realistic to withdraw the armed forces or not, and then move on to the next steps. Makunts has assured that the Armenian side makes every effort to keep the situation manageable and under control.
