The Speaker of the RA National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan met with the Delegation of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (IPA) being in Armenia for observing the snap parliamentary elections.
Welcoming his colleagues, Ararat Mirzoyan has noted that the Armenian side attaches great importance to the presence of the Observation Mission in Armenia and reaffirmed the commitment of ruling majority of organizing free, fair and transparent elections. The President of the National Assembly presented to his colleagues that the decision of holding snap parliamentary elections was reached by all three forces for reaffirming strengthening the inner stability in Armenia.
Taking the advantage, the Head of the parliament introduced his CIS colleagues the developments happened after the adoption of November 9 tripartite statement. They touched upon the violation of the items of the statement by Azerbaijan, the delay of the returning process of prisoners of war and the detained persons to the Motherland, as well as the fact of intrusion into the Republic of Armenia and the necessity of taking out the Azerbaijani soldiers from Armenia.
The Head of the IPA CIS Observation Mission Igor Komarovsky thanked Ararat Mirzoyan for the invitation and presented the works already done by the Observation Mission.
The Secretary General of the IPA CIS Dmitriy Kobitsky expressed hope that the snap parliamentary elections would bring stability and development to Armenia. The Secretary General conveyed greetings on behalf of the Speaker of the RF Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko.
