The spheres of the activity of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations are: international relations, ties with the United Nations (UN) Organization, the Council of Europe, the Security and Cooperation in Europe, as well as with other international organizations, inter-parliamentary agreements, Parliamentary Friendship Groups laws regulating those spheres.
During 2019-2021, 15 sittings were convened, 5 out of which were regular, and 10 – extraordinary. At the Committee 3 laws, 4 NA draft statements and 14 international treaties were endorsed.
One of the goals of Armenia’s foreign policy is the ensuring of the perception of the state positions by the international community and showing their support.
During the two and a half years, the Committee worked with the aim of deepening the engagement in the international organizations and processes, more strengthening of cooperation with friendly and partner countries, as well as the settlement of the regional problems and the formation of the cooperation atmosphere.
