Taguhi Tovmasyan Nominated as Candidate for the Post of Chair of NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs

On August 12, the work of the first session of the NA eighth convocation continued.

The Head of the NA With Honor Faction Artur Vanetsyan nominated the member of With Honor Faction Taguhi Tovmasyan for electing in the post for the Chair of the Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs. Artur Vanetsyan first thanked the Armenia Faction, for giving their position to With Honor Faction according to the D’Hondt method, then he presented the candidate’s biographical data and work experience.

In her speech, Taguhi Tovmasyan thanked the NA With Honor and the Armenia Factions for nominating her as a candidate for that important post. “I assure you that in case of being elected in the post for the Chair of the Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs, in the scope of my authorities, including the use of parliamentary oversight toolkit, I will do my best to guarantee the protection of human rights,” she said.

Referring to the existing problems in the sphere of protection of human rights, Taguhi Tovmasyan has underlined that in case of being elected, she will pay attention to the protection of the rights of all citizens, in particular, servicemen, children and residents of border settlements. “Any injustice should not go unanswered,” Tovmasyan concluded.
