On October 21, the RA NA Chief of Staff-Secretary General Vahan Naribekyan took part in the next meeting of the European Centre for Parliamentary Research and Documentation (EPCRD) in Athens, which is convened once in two years in parallel with the European Conference of Presidents of Parliament.

The changed procedures of the activity of the Staffs of different parliaments of the world during the COVID-19 pandemic, the applied new approaches, which were carried out to provide the regular work of the legislative body were debated.

The heads of the parliaments’ staffs expressed their positions about the expediency of keeping the applying procedures after the end of the pandemic.

The organization of the work in electronic way in the structures were touched upon and more effective use of the digital programmes in the parliaments were spoken about.

The contacts with the citizens, making the parliamentary work open and transparent for the media during the pandemic were highlighted.

The issue of the restriction of the foreign visits during COVID-19 has been considered, which has an impact on the development of the parliamentary diplomacy and the international cooperation.

The RA NA Deputy Chief of Staff Heghine Khachikyan and the Head of the RA NA Department of Foreign Relations Arman Israelian also took part in the Conference.
