Call of NA Deputy Hripsime Grigoryan to International Partners
1 / 1

“Thank you distinguished Speaker,

Dear international partners,

I want to draw everyone's attention to the current provocative actions of Azerbaijan against the eastern borders of the Republic of Armenia, namely, bombing the Armenian positions at the moment.

These regular illegal military operations are a continuation of the actions of Azerbaijani armed forces that invaded the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia yesterday. As known, the Azerbaijani military equipment and army left the territory of the Republic of Armenia as a result of negotiations on 15 November. At the same time the subdivisions of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia were also withdrawn from those positions. Nevertheless, Azerbaijani servicemen who invaded the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia in May this year continue to be deployed in the mentioned territories.

We call on our international partners, including the CSTO, the OSCE, the PACE, our EU partners, to take the necessary measures to condemn another provocation by Azerbaijan to prevent further provocative actions.

The ongoing aggressive actions of the Azerbaijani armed forces and the intolerant and belligerent rhetoric of the political leadership of Azerbaijan is directed against the sovereignty, territorial integrity and regional security and stability of the Republic of Armenia, at the same time contradicting the provisions of the trilateral declaration of November 9, 2020. These action of Azerbaijan serve as a obstacle to start the process of de-blocking of regional communication as well as demarcation and delimitation of borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan, in fact jeopardizing the whole process.

I would like to emphasize that the Azerbaijani military aggression against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia is a threat to regional security and stability and contradicts the provisions the trilateral announcement made on 9 November 9, 2020. It also serves as an obstacle to start the process of de-blocking of regional communication as well as demarcation and delimitation of borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan, in fact jeopardizing the whole process.

Therefore, we once again call the attention of our international partners the entire international community, to the ongoing aggressive actions of the Azerbaijani armed forces and the intolerant and belligerent rhetoric of the political leadership of Azerbaijan. These actions are directed against the sovereignty, territorial integrity and regional security and stability of the Republic of Armenia, at the same time contradicting the provisions of the trilateral declaration of November 9, 2020, and hindering the opening of regional communications and the launch of demarcation and delimitation of borders, significantly jeopardizing the whole process.

Reaffirming the determination of the authorities and people of the Republic of Armenia to defend the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of our homeland, we call on our international partners to make more targeted calls against the short-sighted and dangerous actions of the Azerbaijani military-political leadership, which will show and determine the attention and commitment of our international partners.” Hripsime Grigoryan noted.
