Type A License to Be Issued to Organize Passenger Transportation from Airport by Taxis

At November 18 sitting, the National Assembly debated in the first reading the draft law on Making Amendment and Addenda to the RA Law on Automobile Transport and the legislative package envisaging addenda to the laws of the enclosed ones. The RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Armen Simonyan has noted that the legislative package will regulate the process of providing taxi services in the territory of airports, the quality of service will increase. It is proposed to issue type A license to organize a passenger transportation by passenger taxis of the airport, the state duty of which will be 200.000 AMD per year for organizations and private entrepreneurs. The requirements for the furnishing, appearance and age of vehicles providing airport taxi service will be set. The process of passenger taxi transportations in the territory of the airports will be regulated. In case of violations, an administrative penalty will be imposed.

According the Deputy Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Babken Tunyan, the aim of the initiative is to regulate the move of the cars providing airport taxi services and to restrain tourists from possible deception.
