On November 18, the legislative debated in the first reading the draft law authored by the NA deputy Gevorg Papoyan on Making Addenda and Amendments to the Law on the Audit Chamber.
The persons carrying out civil work can also take part in the auditing by the joint decision of the Chamber with the civil servants, and they will be fully involved in the auditing process. It is proposed to observe also the experts and the specialists auditing. It is planned to eliminate the obligation of the Chamber, by which during the first three working days, the Chamber should submit to the National Assembly the list of the current conclusions to be introduced to the National Assembly during that quarter.
During the development of the draft, the observations of the Audit Chamber, a joint initiative of the Support for Improvement in Governance and Management (SIGMA) the European Commission and Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) were taken into account, as well as the results of analysis conducted by the experts of the UNDP ‘Modern Parliament for a Modern Armenia’ project.
The member of the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Arusyak Manavazyan presented the endorsement of the Committee.
In his co-report the RA Deputy Minister of Justice Suren Grigoryan also voiced about the positive position of the Government.
