On November 25, within the framework of the International Conference ‘Universal Health Coverage for Inclusive and Sustainable Development Goals ’ the RA NA President Alen Simonyan and the Chair of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Vladimir Vardanyan met with the Regional Director for Europe at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Birgitte Ebbesen being held in Saint Petersburg.

At the meeting the post-war humanitarian crisis in Artsakh and the role of the organization in its solution were discussed. The Regional Head for Europe at the IFRC expressed satisfaction on the legislation regarding the Red Cross and the Red Crescent. She informed about the elaboration of the CIS similar model law.

The role of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent in the development of the capacities of the Armenian Red Cross Society was discussed. Alen Simonyan highlighted the direct representation of the international organizations in Artsakh. At the meeting the visit of the Secretary General of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent to Armenia was touched upon in the near future. The RA NA President expressed readiness for receiving the Secretary General and discussing the agenda priorities.
