At December 7 regular sitting, the National Assembly debated in the first reading the package of draft laws on Making Addenda and Amendment to the RA Law on Public Service and on Making Addenda and Amendment to RA Labor Code authored by the Government.
The RA Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ruben Sargsyan noted that the Government proposed the addenda and amendments taking into account the situation created by coronavirus in our country. The initiative, according to the Deputy Chair, is aimed at improving the employees’ health care. As Ruben Sargsyan has said, with the amendment proposed to the Labor Code, if an employee does not present the documents about the vaccination or the PCR test, then the employer is given the right to not allow an employee to come to the workplace, as well as not to pay a salary for that period.
The Deputy Minister presented in detail the amendments envisaged to the Law on Public Service too.
In her co-report, the Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Labor and Social Affairs Heriknaz Tigranyan has called on her colleagues to vote in favor of the legislative package, which, in her opinion, will promote the process of the employees’ vaccination.
The parliament also debated in the first reading the draft law on Making Addenda to the Law on Remuneration of Persons Holding State Positions and State Service Positions authored by the Government.
The draft also includes provisions to provide some guarantees for the persons involved in training camps, military trainings or exercises holding state position or state service positions, taking into account the fact that public servants are currently involved in the activities carried out with the framework of reserve training.
The debate of the draft will continue on December 8.
According to the Constitutional Law - the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, the deputies made statements at the end of the day.
