At January 11 sitting, the RA NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs debated in the second reading the draft law on Making Addenda and Amendments to the Law on Audit Chamber authored by the NA deputy Gevorg Papoyan. It is proposed that the Audit Chamber cooperates with the supreme audit bodies carrying out external state audit and their international organizations in order to exchange the accounting methodology and advanced experience of its implementation.

According to the bill, the members of the Audit Chamber and the auditors will act only within the framework of their functions reserved by law, they cannot spread information which is considered a secret by law and is available to them, they must have appropriate qualifications and knowledge.

It was noted that after the first reading, the Government submitted substantive and editorial proposals, which were accepted by the key rapporteur.

The co-rapporteurs, the NA deputies Arusyak Manavazyan and the RA Deputy Minister of Justice Yeranuhi Tumanyants called on their colleagues to vote for the legislative initiative.

The draft law was endorsed.
