At February 9 regular sitting, the parliament debated the package of bills on Making Addendum and Amendments to the RA Law on Flag of the Republic of Armenia and on Making Addenda to the RA Code on Administrative Offences authored by the deputy of the Armenia Faction in the first reading. According to Aghvan Vardanyan, the main goal of the bill is the maximum publicity of the most spread state symbol, the flag of the Republic of Armenia, the strengthening of the respected attitude of the RA citizens, especially the children and the youth towards statehood.
I t is proposed to fix a demand for permanently hoisting the flag of the Republic of Armenia on the buildings of the pre-school, general education, higher educational institutions, scientific and cultural organizations, other legal persons founded by the state and community. It is suggested also to regulate the issue of the use of the state flag on the buildings adjacent to the venues of public use on Constitution Day, on Republic and Independence holidays.
The author has underlined that it is envisaged to set administrative responsibility for certain violations of the law demands.
In her co-report the member of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Alkhas Ghazaryan presented the endorsement of the Committee.
The RA Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Arayik Khzmalyan presented the recommendations and the opinion in favour of the legislative package.
