Opposition Deputies on Detention of Judge Boris Bakhshiyan
1 / 6

On February 10, during the parliamentary briefings the members of the RA NA Armenia Faction Vahe Hakobyan, Lilit Galstyan and Armen Charchyan answered the journalists’ questions.

The Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Vahe Hakobyan touched upon the detention of the judge Boris Bakhshiyan. He has noted that the European structures continuously keep silence on this background. “We wonder what the price of the EU structures’ silence is,” he underlined.

Touching upon Boris Bakhshiyan’s detention, the RA NA deputy Armen Charchyan noted that it was a serious and bad precedent. “There is a difference of principle between Boris Bakhshiyan and Rubik Mkhitaryan, who made a decision for arresting me. Bakhshiyan’s actions are at the level of perception, and the illegality of Mkhitaryan’s actions was proved by the Constitutional Court,” Armen Charchyan said.

Lilit Galstyan referred to the draft law on the general education passed in the National Assembly. In the deputy’s opinion, the draft is not directed to the reforms, and the goal is the centralization of the school management. “From now on all directors shall be appointed only by the state authorized body. It also supposed centralization of the financial means,” the MP noted.
