Judges in RA Should Be Independent from Legislative and Executive Powers, But Not from Law: Vladimir Vardanyan

On February 10, the deputies Heriknaz Tigranyan, Andranik Kocharyan and Vladimir Vardanyan presented the NA Civil Contract Faction during the parliamentary briefings following the NA regular sittings.

The Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security Andranik Kocharyan, answering to the question when the Inquiry Committee for Examining Circumstances of 44-Day War will be formed, has noted that an exhaustive answer will be given until evening.

The Chair of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Vladimir Vardanyan, referring to the detention of the judge Boris Bakhshiyan, stated that every subject should understand both his/her authorisations, and the responsibility for violating those authorisations. “Judges in the RA should be independent from the executive and legislative powers, but a judge cannot be independent from law,” Vladimir Vardanyan noted, adding that the assessment of the judiciary is out of the functions of the NA deputies.
