On February 22, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Eduard Aghajanyan met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Armenia Bolat Imanbayev.
Noting that there are warm and friendly relations between the two countries, Eduard Aghajanyan emphasized the importance of cooperation between the Parliamentary Friendship Groups.
Touching upon the post-war issues, the Committee Chair highlighted the issue on urgent return of the Armenian captives. He has stated that everything must be done so that Azerbaijan fulfills its commitments. The deputies also referred to the issues on historical-cultural heritage, noting that Azerbaijan continues to destroy the Armenian cultural monuments.
Both sides attached importance to the cooperation between the two countries in the CIS Interparliamentary, the CSTO Parliamentary Assemblies, the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the EEU.
Bolat Imanbayev singled out the role of the Armenian community in strengthening the Armenian- Kazakh relations.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary thanked the Armenian authorities for the quick response to the mass riots in Kazakhstan.
The interlocutors discussed the possibilities to expand the cooperation between the two countries and expressed readiness to support for the strengthening of ties.
