At February 23 regular sitting, the RA NA Standing Committee on Health Care debated in the second reading a number of bills. With the endorsement of the Committee, the bills will be included in the draft agenda of the regular sittings of the National Assembly to be convened on March 1.

The need for the draft law on Amending the Law on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic (Psychoactive) Substances authored by the deputies Narek Zeynalyan, Lusine Badalyan, Hrachya Hakobyan, Emma Palyan and Hripsime Hunanyan is conditioned by editing and supplementing Article 31.2 of the above-mentioned law which has come into force from August 21, 2021, as a result of which, legal and non-discriminatory opportunities will be given to the legal entities carrying out expert activities under the auspices of the state administration system using drugs and psychotropic (psychoactive) substances.

The adoption of the draft law on Making Addendum and Amendment to the Law on Medical Aid and Service for Population authored by Narek Zeynalyan and Lusine Badalyan envisages the introduction of an existing human resource planning system in the field of health care, which will contribute to the improvement of quality and accessibility to m edical a id and s ervice for p opulation .

It is proposed by the draft law on Making Amendments and Addendum to the Law Medical Aid and Service for Population , which was also authored by Narek Zeynalyan and Lusine Badalyan, to stipulate in the law that pathological-anatomical autopsies are performed to diagnose post-mortem diseases and to determine the cause of death only in organizations providing medical care and services in a hospital. It is expected that these and other proposed provisions will allow to control pathological-anatomical activity.

The position of the Government on the draft laws was positive. As a result of the proposals made, the drafts were revised.
