At February 24 sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, presented by the RA Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Ara Nazaryan, the draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the Law on State Regulation of Ensuring Technical Safety was debated.

The need to make amendments and addenda to the law arose by the decision of the RA Government of 22 April 2020, according to which a number of decisions were recognized invalid.

In particular, the EEU regulations will apply instead of a number of technical regulations in the field of technical security.

The Expertise and Analytical Department of the National Assembly Staff submitted proposals on legal amendments to the draft law, which were accepted by the key rapporteur.

Ara Nazaryan noted that based on the proposals, the bill will be re-edited in the period from the first to the second reading.

The draft law was endorsed.

The Committee will propose to the National Assembly to hold the discussion in the second reading of the draft law after the adoption in the first reading, within 24 hours.
