The deepening of democracy in the Republic of Armenia, as well as the rooting of the appropriate culture and traditions is a priority for our country.

With the positive outcome of 2005 constitutional amendments referendum one of the major goals of the political coalition’s programme became a reality. At the same time it created new opportunities in the country for the deepening of democratic processes, therefore also for the development of the country. Greatly highlighting the importance and efficiency of further reforms, the parties of political coalition are determined to continue the cooperation at least till the period of official start of 2007 parliamentary elections: to more efficiently use it for that process.

We should make every effort, so that the pre-election tensions won’t disturb the processes of great importance for the country. The guarantee of which can be the cooperation, the respect towards each other and the stances of each other, the clear fulfillment of the agreements and the civilized discussion and solution of the existing problems. We call on our parliamentary and extraparliamentary colleagues for such cooperation and healthy political relations, attaching importance not only to 2007 parliamentary elections, but also the effective implementation of the deep reforms based on the reformed Constitution to ensure elections in compliance with international standards.
