On March 9, at the extraordinary sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs debated in the second reading the draft law presented by the Government on Making Addendum to the Law on the Reduction and Prevention of Health Damage Caused by the Use of Tobacco Products and their Substitutes. It proposes to add the word “substance” after the word “solution” in Article 1.1.6 of the law.

Today, the NA Armenia Faction submitted a proposal on the draft law debated and adopted in the first reading, which was not accepted as a result of voting.

It should be noted that the faction has proposed to postpone the application of the provision, which will enter into force on March 15, on the prohibition of the use of tobacco products in food facilities that are in open air until September 15.

The Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Health Care Narek Zeynalyan proposed to replace the word “substance” with the word “mixture.” The Committee accepted the proposal by voting.

The Committee endorsed the revised draft law.
