On March 15, during the regular sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security, the RA Deputy Minister of Defense Arman Sargsyan presented the Report on Implementation Process and Results of the RA Government Programme for 2021 (2021-2026) approved by the N 234-A Decision of the RA Government on February 28, 2022.
According to Arman Sargsyan, within the framework of the legislative amendments aimed at clarifying nationwide issues and procedures of defense regulation in the strategic planning system of the defense sphere, the package of draft laws envisaging amendments and addenda to the RA Laws on Defense, on Mobilization Preparations and Mobilization, on Legal Regime of Martial Law, on Government Structure and Activities, on Public Service, on Bodies of State Administration System and on Regulation of Administrative Legal Relations were developed. Now, the package is at the stage of interdepartmental agreement.
During the reporting period, drafts of new deregulations on Operational Equipment of RA Territory, on Military Planning in RA and on RA Territorial Defense were developed.
The drafts of statutes of the RA MoD and RA Armed Forces were revised. An interdepartmental working group on defense planning has been created to coordinate the above-mentioned work.
The structure of military formations, military units, subdivisions of the central apparatus was reviewed for the structural reform of the Armed Forces.
The programme of information security measures of the system of the Ministry of Defense was developed and approved.
The property of military bases has been updated, quality of all the material means provided to the servicemen has been raised.
In order to increase the involvement of women, a rifle platoon of female servicemen was formed in the Armed Forces. A number of educational programmes were carried out.
New network security software has been introduced in cyberspace and in the framework of information infrastructure security. State support in the amount of about 770mln AMD was allocated to 340 servicemen.
